greatfoxmusic
Hello all, I just ordered a Foxconn NF4UK8AA-8EKRS with the Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2PT on newegg. (also with an amd 3200+ athlon 64) Does anyone see a problem with this configuration? I see that the mobo requires Dual channel, unbuffered, 2.5V DDR266/333/400. The newegg listing says this Corsair memory is unbuffered, but the Corsair specs says this is Registered. If anyone sees an incompatibility here, please let me know so I can get the right part before my whole package ships from newegg. Thanks much --Todd
Wired
the Corsair specs says this is Registered. TWINX1024-3200C2PT ARE NOT REGISTERED. It would say 1024R if it was. Those modules need 2.7 volts. Make sure that motherboard can handle that.
greatfoxmusic
OK good. that jibes with newegg then, unbuffered should be ok.. the review of the foxconn board on bjorn3d.com shows "Memory voltage options: 2.5V, Default, 2.7V and 2.8V". so then according to specs on this forum, i should set the memory at 200 mhz for dual channel , and then 2-3-3-6 at 2.7v. correct? greatfoxmusic
though.... setting the memory voltage to 2.7 volts is an overclock feature, 2.5v is the default.
Wired
2.7 v is not an OC feature. That is the rated voltage for that module. Timings: CAS Latency: 2.5 on AMD, 2 on Intel RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3 Row Precharge (tRP): 3 Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS):
greatfoxmusic
Yeah but the feature in the Foxconn BIOS to change the voltage of the memory chips is in the screen for overclocking. Weird but thats how I'm seeing it on the review screenshots. I dont have the board yet to check for sure.
Wired
That's an odd label. Probably that way because 2.5 is JEDEC memory specs.
greatfoxmusic
hi again all well i have my system built, and i got all the timings into bios.. one thing confuses me though: on the ram speed setting, i dont have a 200 mhz setting. all there are for choices is: auto 133 mhz 100 mhz do i leave it on auto and assume that means 200? otherwise i dont see how to set it at 200! thanks --todd
