JonKrmr
Does any one know what the heat dissapating capacity is for the Corsair COOL? I know the HC 200EX can dissapate 200 watts of heat, just wanted to know if the COOL was higher. I'm going to replace my old case with a Lian-Li V1000 case. I already have a HC 200EX but was thinking of installing the COOL into the case for the CPU and use my HC 200EX on top to cool my video and chipset. Kind of a dual water cooler setup.
KaptCrunch
yes ithinks the COOL has more cooling watts then HCX WB. sure can do that daul setup would recomend another power supply to run the cooling only an leave your system PSU alone if marginale. JonKrmr
Thanks KC. It would really help my decision to know exactly what the heat dissapation limit in watts is for the COOL. I would rather not use both coolers if I can avoid it (less hose mess inside case and power consumption issues). I'm sure Cool Guy or Steve know the exact number i'm looking for. Guys? I'm looking to cool the CPU, video and chipset. Right know with my HC 200EX cooling my CPU and video, i'm pushing the 200 watt limit. I can't see how the chipset would put out anywhere near the heat that the CPU or video do so if the COOL has only a marginally better heat/watt rating or better, I should be OK to cool all three with the COOL alone. I'm using a Antec True Power 480 power supply which I think will have enough to run both coolers and everything else in the computer, but don't want to find out after setting it all up that it doesn't. This whole thing is going to cost enough without having to scramble to get a beefier power supply after i'm already locked in.
JonKrmr
After doing some research, I found a heat dissapation rating for a Swiftech radiator that is identical to the COOL rad. The Swiftech rad is rated for 480 watts. Given that the Swiftech kit and COOL kit are nearly identical, and accounting for the efficiancy of the kit, rad and fan setup will reduce this rating somewhat, I would surmise that the COOL can probably handle in the range of 300 watts give or take a few watts. I feel more confident that I will be able to cool my CPU, video and NB with just the COOL. One thing I will need to do though is since my video cooler and NB block are for 8mm ID tubing and the COOL is setup for 10mm tubing is I will need to run splitters to reduce and split the 10mm line to two 8mm lines, one running to the video block and the other running to the NB block and the split them back together again into the 10mm line. Basically running the video and NB in paralel. Anybody see any problems in doing this? I did some research on Koolance's website and found that on there new EXOS-2, they show diagrams of routing the tubing this way to handle the mixture os 10mm and 8mm fittings used. KaptCrunch
JonKrmr keeping the both lenghts same an if the WB's are a matched flow shant be a problem of flow on both blocks, if are unmatched you may have to add a shut off valve to regulate flow on the faster block return line to even out flow.
