Tuoor
Hi, I bought a Flash Voyager USB 512MB stick and everything is fine. But I played a little bit with the different forms of partitioning the stick (secure, non secure) and now I've got a little "cosmetic" problem :( After I bought the stick it was shown as "CORSAIR" when I plugged it in but now it's always shown as "Wechseldatenträger" (I'm german). Is there any possibility to get the original behaviour back? Thanks and have a nice day, Tuoor
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 18, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 18, 2005 "Wechseldatenträger" translates to Removable data carrier so I would think this is just because of the language difference. We are checking into it, but I would not be too concerned.

We are checking into it, but I would not be too concerned. I think, you misunderstud me. I'm not wondering about the word "Wechseldatenträger". I'm german and have a german Windows-Version. So it is korrekt. BUT: The first time I plugged my Corsair FlashVoyager (512MB) Stick in the USB-Port my Windows wrote "CORSAIR (G)" not "Wechseldanträger (G)" ("(G)" is the "drive"). This was very nice and changed after I played with different Partitions and the secure-option. Since then I get always the "Wechseldanträger (G)" information. I would prefer the first display "CORSAIR (G)". Is there any option to change these "recognition-info" of the stick? (Add: the name of the partition (drive) on the stick is "CORSAIR".) Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 4, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 4, 2005 You can change the label on any partition just like you can set the label name on a HDD. As far as why it changed we are looking into it. However, as long as the drive is working properly I would not be to concerned.

Just FYI: If the Voyager is plugged in and functionable, the displayed name is "Wechseldatenträger" but if I look in properties of it (like HDD) then "CORSAIR" is displayed as name of the partition. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 11, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 11, 2005 It looks to be normal from what we have seen, but I don’t have any one that speaks German to be sure. I think the driver is functioning properly and I would not bee too concerned.
Tuoor
FYI: I'm not concerned :sunglasse and the stick does work properly (since I bought it). :): I'm using it several times a week. Just the nice behaviour of showing "CORSAIR" in the drive-List of "My Computer" ("Arbeitsplatz" in german) has disappeared. I think I have to give the drive the name "Corsair" not only the partition on it (the partition on the stick is named "CORSAIR"), to get it displayed as "Corsair" instead of "Wechseldatenträger". (As I already wrote, on delivery it was displayed as "CORSAIR". So how did you manage that?) Any idea how I can do this? Have a nice day
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 6, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 6, 2005 Tuoor, The only way that I would even have a chance to know what might be happening would be to duplicate your system, and I am sorry I don’t speak any other language than English and bit of Chinglish. But I would suspect it has something to do with the way Microsoft does the language translation. And the stick has something similar to an SPD on a memory module where the ID info is stored. That’s how it shows the name of the module.
