Justinedw
Im having problems with my ram, its causing me to freeze up during games. I have changed every part in my computer just about to figure this out, I have added powersupply, more fans, and video card. I tested my ram with memtest and came up with no errors, I have replaced it with a stick exactly like it and seems to fix the problem. I just can't figure out why memtest didn't find a error if its the problem. swampmonster
Just some thoughts from another user (me)...: Might be because the AGP bus and the GPU (and possible other components) are not stressed by memtest86. If you stress the AGP bus and the GPU they will draw more power from the PSU and introduce additional noise. AGP is a real _beast_ when it comes to power and noise, the latter especially on cheaper boards. I know systems where you can actually hear the AGP bus activity and I don't mean through the speakers - I mean without speakers :-) So it might be the "good" stick can cope with more noise and maybe less power then the "bad" stick. Computers are just too complex these days. You could try running some memory-test under windows while having some 3d-benchmark run in parallel... Justinedw
Well Im positive it is the ram. I have just replaced it 2 256mb pc 2700 some off brand memory and played games I lag out in minutes of playing such as Battlefield, and halflife2. Which was the same with the other corsair stick I replaced first time.

Justinedw
Ok I changed all my bios settings to what you suggested besides I couldn't find 2T Timing I spent 30 mins digging trough my bios and didn't find it. I retested with memtest and no errors still, So I tested it playing a game and same thing its freezing in game after maybe 5-10mins. EDIT: I have continued to run memtest for about 1hr 40 mins straight and its still not showing errors. So not sure, I tryed looking and I still can't find the 2T timing to enable it. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 18, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 18, 2005 I think the setting for this MB is CPC over ride and you will want to disable it or set it to 2T. And you might try 2.8 Volts.
