XLPT @ 2225 and LLPT @ 2326

Recommended Posts

I ordered a CMX512-3200LLPT with timings of 2326 and instead got CMX512-3200XLPT with timings 2225 at $99.00.

I know that the XLPT is suppose to be better than the LLPT (2225 vs 2326) but I want to use them in DDR mode and I was told that only exact matching pairs of memory sticks can be used. Should I return the XLPT and get another stick of LLPT or return the LLPT and get another stick of XLPT?

Which one is really better?

I also have some TWINX CMX256A-3200LLPT (2326) V1.2 that I have used in DDR mode.

(4 sticks right now:

1 set of TWINX CMX256A-3200LLPT (2326) V1.2

1 CMX512-3200 LLPT (2326) V3.1

1 CMX512-3200XLPT (2225) V1.1)

Some questions:

What is the difference between the V1.2 (CH5 chips I think) vs the V3.1 of the LLPT?

What is the difference between the V1.3 LLPT and the V1.1 XLPT?

Can I use the two 512 sticks (2225 and 2326) in DDR as I did with the TWINX?

Also, can I use either of the 512 sticks in conjunction with the TWINX in DDR mode to give me 1GIG of memory?

Thanks for your relpies.

Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
