It's pretty common to to hear the circuit click on/off once with power and I have multiple PSUs that do this from different brands. There is a very slight one with the AX1200i I just installed, but you have to be listening for it. If it is especially loud or sounds like broke the rack in billiards, that might bear further consideration. Maybe another 1600i owner can make an exact comparison.
