I have 4 LL120's set on channel 2 and 4 of the corsair RGB strips on channel one, the strips work fine. the LL120's work fine in "stand by" but when the profile wakes up, the fans are not illuminating. any ideas?

That setup won't work. You would need your RGB strips plugged into a LED channel either on a Lighting Node Pro or Commander Pro and then, your LL fans would need to be on a separate RGB Hub. See images below for reference:

Note that your 4 x fans need to be in series on the RGB Hub in ports 1 through 4. You will additionally need to assign the fans and LED Strips in iCUE under the Lighting Channel tab.

I think you would also find it beneficial to check out the RGB Guide/FAQ linked below:

Well, there's no reason why that setup wouldn't work. And since the fans work when in demo mode, he does have them in order.

So ... what about the effects? Did you actually apply them to the fans? In the iCUE preview screen, do you see the effects "playing" on the fans? What happens if you set instant lighting?

Valid points, I misinterpreted the OP's issue. This is why you get paid the big bucks. :sigh!:

everything is setup exactly as the diagram above stats. all effects work properly when I go in. but they do not save.

Unfortunately, I do not have answer for you.

Did/have you tried the steps that DevBiker mentioned previously and what were the results? I am also curious to what version of iCUE you are running.

If it was me, and simply as part of troubleshooting, I'd try an earlier version of iCUE. Saying that, if you have a Platinum AIO cooler that might not be the best choice as you could possible introduce a USB disconnection issue on anything earlier than 3.15.101.

Is this a new build and/or have your updated iCUE recently?

Maybe one of the other guys will chime in with a different approach...
