mlee
Hello, My computer system seems to spontaneously reboot after a few hours of use. I’m not over clocking the CPU and my system setup is as follows: CPU: Intel P4 1.8A BOARD: ABIT SG-71 FSB: 500Mhz All settings are set to default on the bios. and i've had this same setting for the past couple of years. Just ran into these problems recently. DDR: (1) CORSAIR XMS 2700 PART: CMX512-2700C2 VER: XMS27002v3.1 LOT: 0323048 It has been happening for the last week and I initially thought the PSU or high system temps causing the sporadic reboots, but after swapping out to another PSU and adding a few more 80MM case fans still no luck. After trying the two things above I swapped out the Corsair for OCZ and the system has been running fine now w/o any troubles. Please advise on how I can get my Corsair XMS back up and running. mlee
I have all the settings set to default, no perofmance settings. This is just a regular at home business based machine. This board does have limited tweaking capabilities to the memory and CPU clock speed. The settings in my BIOS CAS Latancy= 2.5T DRAM ADDR/CMDRATE = Auto CPU CLOCK= 100 thank you please adivse
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 14, 2005 What do you have the memory Frequency set to? and I would set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts with the memory frequency set to DDR266 and test the module with http://www.memtest.org to be sure, but if you leave the default settings with the CPU speed you have it may generate errors. mlee
ok made the changes. How long should the memtest run for? I'll keep you update on the reboots after the memtest is done.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 15, 2005 2-3 passes per module should be enough to show a bad module.
