Wired
What is the revision # of each stick? Test one stick at a time in the same slot using Memtest86+.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 17, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 17, 2005 Please test them one set at a time with the Dim Voltage set to 1.9 Volts with http://www.memtest.org and if they both pass then you may have to relax the timings to get your system to run 4 modules. I would try the dim voltage at 2.1 Volts and set the timings to Cass 4-4-4-12.
Skugge
Thanx for the answer. The funny thing is, one pair works fine in bank a, if I remove them with the other pair, it freezes after 5 - 6 min with memtest & windows. Should I try all four module sticks with 2.1 Volts and timing to Cas 4-4-4-12 in the bios? Regards Skugge
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 17, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 17, 2005 Please test them one set at a time like I suggested and the minimum dim Voltage for these modules would be 1.9 Volts. So please test them and if you find one set is the problem then lets get that set replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
Skugge
Set one with 1.9 Volts setting in bios, did freeze after five min. Works ok with auto setting. Set two with 1.9 Volts setting in bios did freeze when windows started. Both sets where tested in bank a on the motherboard I have this setting in AMI bios under: Configure DRAM TIMING by SPD DRAM CAS# Latency - 5 Clocks DRAM RAS# Precharge - 4 Clocks DRAM RAS# to Cash#Delay - 4 Clocks DRAM RAS# Activate to Precha - 15 Clocks DRAM WRITE Recovery Time - 4 clocks DRAM ECC Mode - Auto ? is it here I find the timing settings cas? Skugge
All of a sudden my system works ok with all 4 modules. I set the power to 2.0 Volts. I did't find where to change "timings to Cass 4-4-4-12" in the bios. Is it safe to run my system like I do now? or do I need to change the timing cas? If I do, How do i do it? I hope it isn't periodic error with the modules. Regards Skugge
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 17, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 17, 2005 I would just try it and see if the system is stable, and if you have a problem, please let me know, but normally the memory timings are listed under Advanced Chipset.
