MSI KT3 Vs. CMX512-2700C2

Hi,

Have an MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU (Barton 3000+) which has been running for ages with a single stick of CMX512-2700C2 (v1.2). I have been using the following BIOS (v.5.7) settings without issue, running sweet;

CAS = 2

Row Precharge = 3T

RAS Pulse Width = 6T

RAS to CAS Delay = 3T

SDRAM Bank Interleave = 4-Way

SDRAM Burst Length = 4QW

SDRAM 1T Command = Enabled

Fast Command = Normal

Now a friend of mine has given me another stick of CMX512-2700C2, however this time it's v1.1

I have tried this memory in both spare slots on my motherboard, and swapped the DIMM's around, but the system refuses to boot properly. Sometimes failing to post, other times freezing on boot, other times a BSOD just before login.

I should point out however that both sticks are happy on their own.

Any ideas on how I can these two to work together in perfect harmony ?

Thanks in advance,

J

Ram Guy,

Have put the v.1.1 DIMM in slot 3. And have changed the BIOS settings as per your suggestion, with the exception of changing the RAS Pulse Width from 6T -> 7T. My motherboard only goes as high as 6T.

Anyway, Ran up the Mestest86+ (v.1.51), and errors were reported during the tests.

What can I do now to get these DIMM's working together ?

Below is the extended version information of both sticks.

XMS2700V1.1

XMS2702V1.2

Cheers,

J

I have double checked, both sticks report no errors on their own in slot 1 with the original settings.
