XMS 4000 pro keeps restarting my comp

Recommended Posts

ive got 2 Corsair XMS4000pro CMS512 twinx, the problem im having is in dual channel mode they keep restarting and freezeing the pc, these are running with no over clock at 400MHz 1:1 with cpu, v2.7 wont go any higher in bios, tried all the usual changes in bios like relaxing the timmings and lowering them still the same thing, if i run them in single channel mode they run much better and only freeze the pc once in a while, memtest comes up with nothing but super PI stops and give errors, i dont have any probs with my Samsung pc 2700 1gig matched pair and Geil pc 3200 1gig matched pair of ram so i know its defo the ram.

thanks for any help

Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

the CPU settings are bios mainly defaults, CPU ratio by H/W cant be changed cpu locked, CPU Vcore by H/W, FSB 200, system performance - normal did try high performance but made no diff, FSB/DRAM Ratio 1:1, now set at SPD, Memory timmings set to SPD, tried manual and high performance, ram voltage set to 2.7 wont go any higher.

Please try these settings and then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org.

CPU Freq: 200 MHz

Memory Frequency: 100%

Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts

Resulting Frequency: 200MHz

SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T
