I have two 512 corsair pc3200 dual channel platinum xms memory and i have an asus a7n8x-e deluxe motherboard and amd athlon xp 3200 processor. whenever i try to play half life 2 it plays fine for like 10 minutes then gives me a read memory error. other games like doom 3 and battlefield 1942 crash also. my Windows xp pro crashes constantly too. i ran the memory tests and it gave no errors so i dont know whats up ive been having this problem since i built the computer a few months ago and it is really getting annoying. it sometimes gives me the blue screen and sometimes just reboots im pretty sure it has something to do with the memory. someone please help i gotta get this fixed its getting ridiculus.

Can you tell me our modules part# (How To Read the Memory Label) and the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

the mb is an asus a7n8x-e deluxe my cpu is 2.2 gigs amd ,y fsb is 400 mhz and the part number is cmx512-3200pt

I would make a disk to test the memory from http://www.memtest.org and then unplug the power and remove the battery and clear the bios! Then put the jumper back after about 20 seconds and put the battery back in and install the modules in slots 2-3 and set the FSB jumper to pins 2-3 furthest away from the CPU and plug it back in and turn it on and enter the bios setup and load setup defaults and set the settings listed bellow and exit saving changes and boot to the Memtest disk with the following settings and make sure the system is stable!

CPU Freq: 200 Mhz

Dim Voltage: 2.7 Volts

System performance: User Define

Memory Freq: 100%

Resulting Frequency: 200MHz

SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T

Let the system run for at least 2 passes of http://www.memtest.org: It will take about a 1/2 hour to complete!
