cadsude
I purchased 2 sticks of CMX512RE-3200LL; the system would not load windows with both sticks installed. Windows repeatedly had issues loading certain dlls etc. So, I decided to remove one stick and try setting windows back up again. Again, same problems loading windows. Finally, I tried the second stick all by itself, and had absolutely no problems at all. The system appears to be stable so far with just the one stick of 512. It seems like a classic bad memory problem, and I was hoping to get an RMA. thanks!

Wired
What motherboard do you have?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 9, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 9, 2005 Good point Wired. These modules would be for AMD64 socket 940 CPU's only.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 11, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 11, 2005 I am sorry but the Tyan MB's may not support our low latency modules because they will not let you set the Dim Voltage. And I would suggest 2.75 Volts with these modules. You should be using CM72SD512RLP-3200 with this MB.
cadsude
So.....would a low DIMM voltage cause windows not to load? Should I still send the one stick to at least get tested?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 14, 2005 Sure, we can try that if you like. But I am not confident that will solve the problem. I'm still not clear why the errors occur at the same exact address. Doesn't that suggest a bad spot on the memory?
cadsude
I'm sorry I didn't mean it that way; the errors were not exactly the same; nonetheless it seems that I simply have the wrong kind of ram for this system. You mentioned using the CM72SD512RLP-3200......and I have noticed that thier is some TwinX recommended too.......which one will run better with my system? Can you install multiple sets of twin X ram? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 14, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 14, 2005 With Tyan, I would suggest using the modules they have qualified on their QVL lust for the specific MB you have. So CM72SD512RLP-3200 would be the best part for that MB.
