SeeLukeBair
Hi I have a set of 256 (xms3200 v1.2) CMx256A. The computer had random reboots constantly so I ran memtest and it showed a bad stick. After I pulled it out it was finally stable, ahhhhhh. So what else do I need to finish my RMA?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 9, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 9, 2005 Can you tell me our modules part# (How To Read the Memory Label) and the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
SeeLukeBair
Ok, I am running a asus k8v delux (rev 1). My part number for the ram is cmx256A-3200LL My cpu and FSB speed are all default. (no overclocking) although I have tried underclocking the memory, but the computer was still having stability issues. The only settings I have changed in the bios are the error detection (ram scrubbing) and playing with the cas latency. I saw very little difference in stability when adjusting thies. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 15, 2005 The memory you have is not ECC and the ECC settings should all be disabled. Please load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org. Also you will need bios version 1.004 Beta 5 or newer with this MB as I remember.
