Some months ago I tried connecting one of the HUB ports to the motherboard input in my CoolerMaster H500M RGB Controller. The outcome was magic smoke and I immediately stopped messing around with it. Guess what? I just installed an extra LL120 and connected it to that same HUB port, turned the machine on and the port is still working fine. So, that's that. I just wanted to follow up for those interested. If you like tinkering with your RGB gadgets and you happen to have some magic smoke it doesn't necessarily means the HUB port will be toasted.
