boris711
Hello, I have been having intermittent (but VERY frequent) lockup, performance or spontaneous reboot issues for a couple of months. Lockups usually occurred right after boot when pressing a key on the keyboard. Running XP Pro SP2 on ASUS P4P8X SE. Tried updating all drivers. Removed wireless keyboard, mouse and corresponding drivers from config. Removed KVM from config. Still same issues. Finally, ordered identical pair of TwinX DDR from supplier. Swapped RAM. Immediately realized performance increase and no lockups or reboots, yet. I tried to install the original pair into the remaining bank of slots, the machine locks on reboot. I think I have a bad pair of CMX256A-3200C2 RAM. What do you think?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 8, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 8, 2005 Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
