mrdogcat
My computer wouldn't bootup due to one of the memory modules. I was working on my computer and the screen suddenly went black and the sound stopped. I couldn't get back into Windows or Ctrl+Alt+Del to get into Task Manager to restart the machine...basically a big crash! I switched off the machine by the power switch on the PSU and then switched on again to reboot. Nothing happened the screen didn't display anything (the monitor WAS on). I tried it many times checking all leads out and in and still a problem persisted. I took the code down from the POST code display on my ABIT AV8 mainboard it stopped on 04 (indicating bad memory) with a BIOS error beep every four seconds (also indicating bad mem) So after checking everything else I took out one of my memory modules PART NO. VS512MBKIT400C3 SPEED: PC3200 SIZE: 512MB PACKAGE: 2x184 DIMM and the machine booted with no problems. Can you send me a RMA? Thanks
