phaze1369
Good day, I'm building a new system, and confused about these 2 memories: CMX512-4400 512MB DDR550 XMS4400 and the CMX512-4400C25 512MB DDR550 XMS4400. Why is the CMX512-4400 with latencies of 3-4-4-8 advertised as the faster and is more expensive than the CMX512-4400C25 with latencies of 2.5-4-4-8. What makes it better? I have an Abit NF7-S Ver. 2.0 Mobo, nForce2 Ultra400 + MCP-T Chipset and an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ CPU. Thanks for the help, Bill
Wired
Where are you getting this info? 4400 is the same speed as 4400C25.

The 2.5 4400C25 runs at a lower latency than the non C25 at 550. I have no idea why the slower rated 4400 is $100 more? I have the 4400C25 and it is very good,i have had it to 580 at 2.5,4,4,8 at 2.75 volts.
Wired
NewEgg: $368.00 - TWINX1024-4400 $275.00 -TWINX1024-4400C25PT $155.00 - CMX512-4400 $130.00 - CMX512-4400C25 That what you mean? Probably because the 4400C25s are replacing the 4400s. Speed is the same, timings are different, as you know.
