pclayton79
I recently purchased a MSI K8N Neo-FSR MB and Corsair TWINX512-3200 memory. This is my first athlon64 build. Will this memory still work wiht this MB even though this is a dual channel memory kit??? When I boot up the machine i am getting an approx. 3 second POST error beep and then a pause and then it repeats. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance for the help. CandyKid
You might want to check out this guide to POST beep codes, but I can't find that exact code. However, I think it's either memory or video related. Have you tried using only one memory module or trying the modules in another computer that you know is working? (The memory should work.) pclayton79
Yeah, I've tried each stick individually, but still get the same POST error beep. I have found a couple of different lists of the error beep codes for the BIOS, but I'm not sure which one is accurate. I'm going with the assumption that it is a memory issue becasue I have tried 3 different video cards and get the same error. I will take a look at the link you provided for the error beeps and see if it is one I have already checked out. Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 8, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 8, 2005 Please try the modules one at a time and I would try and reset the bios with the clear bios jumper and see if its just one weak module. But if you have the same result with both modules I would suggest testing them in another system to be sure, but that would suggest a problem with the MB or CPU.
