Problem Abit NFS7-S v2.0 and 2*512 PC3200

Recommended Posts

My Cosair Value PC3200 (2*512) don't work with my motherboard NF7-S v2.0

I can't install Windows. There a problem with a file's copy.

I've change the bios setting for the memory (2.8V & 8-4-4-3) but always problems.

With my old memory I can install windows and anything else.

Can you help me ?

Can you tell me the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

The corsair memory is VS512MB400 Value Select

I try with an other motherboard (Leadtek K7nCR18D) and there is no difference.

(Athlon 3000+ fsb 333 / memory 333 8-4-4-3)

(Athlon 3000+ fsb 333 / memory 400 8-4-4-3)

I try memtest on the two pc and no error.

First thing, these modules should be set to Cass 2.5-3-3-8 in the SPD, and I would try and laod setup defaults and then make sure that you set the memory Frequency ratio to 100% as you cannot run the memory at DDR400 when you are running a 333FSB CPU. And if you are not getting errors in memtest that would suggest some other issue. I would try and load setup defaults and then try these settings and see if the system works.

CPU Freq: 166 MHz

System Performance: User Define

Memory Frequency: 100%

Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts

Resulting Frequency: 166MHz

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 7T

Then use http://www.memtest.org to test the modules one at a time.

CPU : Athlon 3200+ (FSB 400)

Memory : 512 Mo (400 - 2.7V)

Latency: 2.5T

Delay (tRCD): 3T

Precharge (tRP): 3T

Delay (tRAS): 7T

I've do with your setting.

I test on my other computer (Athlon 3000+ - FSB 333) ?
