brianw72
I have 3 of these sticks, and I think one of them is bad, or just doesn't like to work with the others. If I put them all in the board, it will post, but as soon as it gets to the black screen, right before the WinXP banner pops up, it just reboots itself. It's a Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW-P mobo, dual Athlon 2400+ mps, GeForce FX5200 128mb, 1x40Gb WD, 1 Cd-rom, and a floppy. I thought it was the ps but I tried several differents one's, from an Enermax 460w to a True 550w, which is in it now. The two sticks that are in it work great with the 550w, but if I add the last stick, I get the infinate reboot. Its weird because 2 of the modules have Samsung chipsets, and the other has a Nanya, but it's one of the Samsungs that is causing all the problems. However, I did try the questionable stick and it works fine alone, but if I add either of the other two it won't boot. Any suggestions?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 7, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 7, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org. If they all pass, especially the one you suspect, then I would suggest we try replacing all 3 modules. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
brianw72
Well, I tested all three and the questionable stick failed the first test so I stopped it there. I ran one pass on the other two and they both passed so I stopped it, since it takes over an hour per pass. Do you want me to run more than one pass on them?
