h100i Test

hello

I have an old H100i circa 2015 in my pcpart graveyard bin. Is there a way to test/check it to see if the pump still works without slapping it on a cpu and motherboard?

can I connect just the pump and the USB cable while another AIO is on my CPU at the same time just to see if it works? If so, how can I tell?

Or do I have to remove current AIO, clean off thermal paste, reapply, etc etc?

Thanks in advance!

I have an idea for my new 570X Mirriored Glass case and need a pump header that has LED lighting :)

I would like to use the money on more LL 120s instead of another AIO which needs LL120s anyways lol

I wouldnt think so, Just hook up the Sata power connector and land the pump rpm connector on a empty fan header on your motherboard. look at some form of hardware monitor to check the pump rpm, to make sure you are looking at the right fan header in the hardware monitor unplug the pump sensor wire from the fan header and re plug it in, which ever RPM drops then comes back is the fan header your pump sensor wire is on.

Good Luck
