ChuckyB
I'm considering configuring a system with the Asus A8N-SLI NForce4 SLI mobo with the AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 (939) processor. I'd like to use 2 sets of 1 GB (2 pcs 512) DDR (400) PC-3200 Corsair (TWINX1024-3200C2) for the RAM (cheaper than 2-1Gb sticks). Asus's site shows 512MB CORSAIR CMX512-3200C2 for this mobo as NOT "supporting 4 modules inserted into both the blue and black slots as two pairs of Dual-channel memory configuration". However, it DOES show 512MB CORSAIR VS512MB400 VALUE seLecT as being supported for 4 modules. Question: With this mobo, if I fill all four slots with 512Mb PC-3200 Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2, will the RAM run at DDR (333), like in the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum? Or, not be supported at all? If yes, would they run at the 200 MHz (DDR400) at aggressive 2.5-3-3-6 latency settings on this AMD platform? Any light you can shed on this issue would be appreciated as I'm stalling on making a purchase until I know the answer to these questions. Thanks. Wired
I'd have to double check with their website, but I believe that board lowers the FSB to 333 with 4 sticks as well. It should run 4 C2s, HOWEVER make sure they're the same revision, and no one can guarantee they'll do 2.5-3-3-6 with 4 sticks, as they're only tested like that with 2 sticks.
