pixeldev
I have an ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard with an FX-53 Processor. I bought the Corsair CMX512RE-3200LL TwinX ram sticks and swapped them with the old ram. But it didn't work. Everything on this computer is new and there are no defective parts, but it won't work with this ram. I called Corsair and I talked to someone, they told me to set the BIOS settings to these: CAS Latency - 2 TRCD - 3 TRAS - 6 TRP - 2 I tried that and when it restarted I got no video input. I tested both the RAM sticks in another computer and they work fine, so the RAM isnt deffective, whats going on??? Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 3, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 3, 2005 I am sorry but this MB will not support registered memory. Please see if the reseller will let you exchange them for a Twinx1024-3200XL set instead.

pixeldev
Ok, tigerdirect.ca is requesting a case number. Is it possible to ask for one through here, or do I have to leave a voicemail on the phone?
Wired
They shouldn't need one. Per the specs of the motherboard and the memory, it is crystal clear that they are incompatible. Honestly, if they can't figure that out from their tech desk, I'd never shop there again.
pixeldev
Thats what im trying to tell them, but they keep telling me that it's compatible and that they need a service number before they can do anything else.
Wired
Use the thread #, 36337. Make sure they're not trying to RMA the memory, as usually that's the only time a store asks for a # from a manufacturer. Also refer them to: http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=A8V%20Deluxe&langs=09 DDR400/DDR333/DDR266 non-ECC un-buffered DDR SDRAM memory The R means buffered, or registered, and the E means ECC memory. If they can't comprehend it after that, I'd ask for a supervisor.
