Recommended Posts

using your memory test, it checks fine on 3 passes. when i turn off the cache it get's all wierd, going past 100%, but not showing errors

using the Microsoft memtest, it fails on the Stride6 wihen the cache is off running extended tests.

btw, this machine ran stable for the last year, now i have been reinstalling XP over and over for the last 2 days, it is failing at random places

running 2 CMX512-3200C2 512MB DDR400 PC3200 XMS

memory is at 8-3-3-2.5, 2.7v

MSI K7N2 Delta -ILSR mobo

running a AMD 2600 (AXDA2600DKV3D, 2600+, 2083MHz, 12.5x, 1.65v)

Any help is appreciated

Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

from default, i've changed the CPU FSB from 166 down to 133 and 100, and i get the same results. I turned off the "full screen logo show". and i've set the voltage as per the AMD guide (http://139.95.253.214/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=38,E=0000000000168631595,K=7412,Sxi=6,Case=obj(1224)) for the CPU Ratio and the CPU Vcore Select that i mentioned above, (12.5, 1.65).

The rest of the bios settings are default.

Then you may be trying to run the memory at DDR400 and with this CPU you would need to run the memory frequency at 100% or at DDR333.

Please load setup/Optimized defaults and try these settings and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and if they all pass then try them all together. Also you might install them in slots 2-3 as well.

CPU Freq: 166 MHz

Memory Frequency: 100%

Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts

Resulting Frequency: 166MHz

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T
