mdogs444
Dear Ramguy - I bought my Corsairs about 6 months back. Up until now, i was convinced this was a MOBO issue, but i see more and more others using DDR400 and upwards with 2 sticks no problems. I have two of the 512MB DDR400 VS's on a Gigabyte K8NS-Pro w/ Athlon 64 3000+. No matter what i do with the voltage, my memory will not post at over the 166 divider (166MHz). Even if trying to overclock the CPU with the divider, it still will not post. I have upped the memory to 2.9V and yet still nothing. I have to clear the CMOS each and every time. I can once in a while boot post with 1 512 stick doing 200MHz, and sometimes that will hang. Can i RMA these back to see if i can get a set of working DDR400's???? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 1, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 1, 2005 If you are getting the same problem with both modules, that would suggest some other problem. Can you test them in another system?

No, i dont have another system to try it on, but MEMTEST and Prime95 both fail if i go over 166MHz
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 1, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 1, 2005 Have you tested the modules one at a time?
mdogs444
Yes, with 1 of the modules i can boot at DDR400, the other i cannot. With both i cannot either, no matter which slots i try them in. Have you tested the modules one at a time?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 1, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 1, 2005 The one that boots at DDR400 please run http://www.memtest.org on that module. If that one passes and the other module just will not boot at DDR400 then I would agree it sounds like you just have a bad module and we will be happy to replace them or it. However, if you have problems with that module as well I would suspect some other problem, and most likely that would be a failing CPU. If you have doubts, maybe a friend can help you test the modules in another system. If you do need to get them or it replaced? Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
