kalnhal
I bought 2 sticks of the value select 512MB PC3200. back in Dec 2004, and installed Win XP... board is nForce 3 base (MSI Neo Platinum 2) chip is Athlon 64 3500+. Got some strange CD issues, but nothing else seemed amiss, except I had some erratic crashes when running games (Halflife 2, Neverwinter, C&C Generals) usually faulting in video drivers and sound drivers. I updated all those drivers; reinstalled windows to remove nVidia drivers I suspected, and still had a ton of blue screens. Did a total hard drive scan as that had reported some errors, then reformatted and re-reinstalled windows. Finally (accidentally?) hit one of the MS error reporting buttons on a particular program fault and got the link for the memtest bootable. I ran it and immediately and consistantly got faults in the 0x20000000-0x3fffffff range. I swapped the memory into the other slots and switched channels and all the errors were in 0x0-0x1fffffff... so I removed one stick, retested, continued to get errors, then replaced it with the other and finally had an error-free run. Long story, clearly, but goes to show I just didn't want to believe the memory could be bad! -kalnhal

kalnhal
In case anyone stumbles across this: My experience with the online form was not optimal, as I waited 24+ hours and received no response -- so I called the tech support line and got an RMA fairly immediately. Shipped the part USPS on Friday in Phoenix, received the replacement Monday of the week after in Baltimore; so 6 business days later -- 3 of 'em due to UPS. Memtest'ed and got successes across the board, so I'm in the "satisfied with warranty service" camp -- thanks, Corsair! -kalnhal
