agdood04
I have a Abit AV8 Athlon 64 3500+ winchester A while back I bought 2 Gigs of Twinx-3200llPro from ZipZoomFly. I bought 1 gig at a time. Shortly after installing the first gig I began to get randoms errors. After the second gig arrived I changed the memory out and still received some of the same random errors. After much frustration I found out about memtest.org. After running memtest86 I received many errors. I have tried each gig separately and then all together but I still received errors in memtest. I also tried increasing the ddr voltages, but that did not help either. Just to make sure it was not something else, I ran memtest on my old sticks of ram (CMX512*2 pc2700) and it passed free without errors after 30min. My time has expired from ZipZoomFly, shouldl I get an RMA from corsair?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 28, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 28, 2005 With more than 2 modules you may have to run them at DDR333 with this MB, but I would test the modules one at a time and please make sure that you have the latest bios and load setup defaults and then set the following timings mnaually and test them with http://www.memtest.org. Dim Voltage to +2.7 Volts: CAS Latency CL=2.0 Row Cycle Time tRC Bios Default Row Refresh Cyc Time tRFC Bios Default Ras# to CAS# delay tRCD 3 Row to Row delay Bios Default Min Ras# Active Time tRAS 6 Row Precharge Time tRP 2 Write Recovery Time Bios Default Write to Read delay Bios Default Read to Write Delay Bios Default Refresh Period tREF Bios Default Enable 2T Timing Disabled (With more than 2 modules this needs to be Enabled) Then test the system with http://www.memtest.org and make sure it's stable! If you have problems, I would set Enable 2T Timings to AUTO and test it again! If you get errors with all of the modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test the modules in another system if you can.
agdood04
RamGuy, After I got home I tested the modules individually as you specified. As it turns out your suggestions fixed one of my matched pairs, but in the other pair only one module passed memtest. On the other, I recieved errors in the thousands. Can I go ahead an RMA that pair? Thanks RamGuy
