NCarch
Hi, Current: AMD 2100+ 768 MB pc2100 MSI KT6V mobo BFG 6800GT OC Im looking for a 2x512 ram suggestion (saw a KT6V-LSR mobo on the "Find the Module" page, but thats not mine). I will prob upgrade cpu to a 3200+ very soon. I do alot of Autocad, 3ds Max and gaming. I dont think my mobo requires dual chan ram, if so, whats a good choice? I was looking at the extra low latency module and notice they support 2.75v, while my mobo supports 2.5v. Will I not get the boost from 2-2-2-5 timings? I dont plan on overclocking. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 28, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 28, 2005 I would not suggest our XL modules with this MB, while they will run in this MB; they may not be able to run at Cass 2-2-2-5 unless you can set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 or 2.8 Volts. And I would not use more than one module as you may be limited to DDR333 as well. Maybe a better choice with this MB would be a single CMX1024-3200C2 instead. NCarch
Thank you for your input. That stick looks great, but quite expensive.... now I wonder if I should just upgrade to a nforce4 mobo and use dual chan memory. Oh the joy of spending the tax return! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 28, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 28, 2005 Well you would have more performance. But that is your choice.
