Chyrus
I'm using a K70 and a Scimitar. Since getting a new PC I am having a problem with my Scimitar/iCUE. With iCUE running I get a warning messages about macros, and none of the actions that I assign to my Scimitar side buttons will work. However if I create a hardware profile and close iCUE, it works fine. As soon as I reopen iCUE, the side button actions will not work. I am only trying to do remapping for basic mouse buttons - back, forward, etc. This was a fresh Win10 install, and I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling/repairing the iCUE software. Any advice? hastegag
is your default profile on top of your hardware profiles in the tree at the left? If so, i think that takes precedence or preference, you can drag it about if you like and maybe report back if you dont mind?
Chyrus
I only have a hardware profile, no software profiles at the moment. I created one, and it doesn't matter what order they are in. As long as iCUE is open, the buttons still don't work.
hastegag
so your software profile you created and dragged up top, had the binds you were looking for? Then you had icue running and it simply didnt work? Can you share a screenshot maybe something is missing?
Chyrus
Sure. https://imgur.com/a/g7msgMK https://imgur.com/a/VJgfyZW If I try to select Profile 2, or move it to the top of the list, as soon as I click to any program other than iCUE it automatically changes back to the Default profile. Deleting either one of the profiles and only having one of them exist doesn't make anything work. If any other screenshots or information is useful I'll be glad to share. Chyrus
Ok, so... After taking those screenshots and making that post, apparently the actions are working now on the Default profile with iCUE open. I didn't do anything that I haven't tried before. I've read about people going through and clicking each action in the profile and tried that, and that's about the only thing I can think of that I just did. Going to restart my PC now and see how it behaves when iCUE is reopened.
Chyrus
After a restart, things are back to how they have been. Actions are not working with iCUE open. I tried to redo every single thing I did with the program open last time. Absolutely no idea what I could have done that made it work.
hastegag
there has to be a common thread here as i only had this type of issue with one version. Does the result change if you try remap function keys instead of remap mouse button? (For the sake of diagnosis) To tell, if you dont have autohotkey which shows the most recent key presses in the software, maybe just remap one of them to F1 and see if it brings up help in certain applications? or better yet maybe F11 and see if it maximizes your browser i think that may be more common
Chyrus
I've tried to remap things other than mouse buttons before and the result was the same. Just now I tried to remap both F1 and F11 to different buttons and it does nothing.
Chyrus
I just uninstalled iCUE and installed an older version of CUE. Same problem. Updated to the current version of iCUE through CUE to no avail.
hastegag
ugh thank you for quick reply but there has to be a common denominator here. You said it happens whether icue is open or not regardless of version? Can you make the same binds on your k70 and see if you have different results? Chyrus
Binding actions to the K70 gives the same outcome. I went through and tested every type of action, and found that two of them -do- work with iCUE open, both on the K70 and Scimitar. Those are 'Text' and 'Launch Application'. I think that could get us somewhere. On a lower level, text and launch application probably use different methods like shellex (or a qt equivalent) remaps may be more complex, hopefully someone or the @corsair can jump in here with some insights or suggestions. They may suggest you reach out to support first which might be worth your time too if it is a simple fix.
