Hi All ,

I'm interested in getting myself the Hydro Series™ H100i RGB PLATINUM 240mm Liquid CPU Cooler currently priced at £124.99,

H100i RGB PLATINUM 240mm and motherboard

what I would like to know is does the block cover the whole area of the CPU, or should i go with a Standard fan as the link/image below is built for the TR4 motherboards

AMD TR4 CPU COOLER WITH ADDRESSABLE RGB

Kind Regards

It covers most but not all of the heat spreader. It certainly covers more than the Pro or -v2 series coolers and does a pretty good job cooling my 2950x. At idle, I'll have a coolant/core temp delta of around 2-3C ... the highest I've gotten to was just briefly touching 70C while running an extended load with Prime95. Most of the time during the Prime95 run, the temp was in the 60's.

One of the other iCue Beta Team members is also running a Platinum cooler on his 1950X and has reported excellent results as well.

Here's a picture of it mounted:

The cooler that you linked to is a pretty good air cooler for the TR4. But it's still an air cooler.
