Tried setting a constant fan speed and for some reason I can’t the rpm keep jumping all over the place on the fans saying like 13000 300 and then back and forth there going crazy anyone have any ideas. I have an msi z390 Meg and I have a custom loop for cpu my pump is connected directly to mobo fans are all plugged into the Corsair link in back but they still are working without the i cue. I deleted it until I can figure out wth is going on fans we’re all over I can’t set the profiles but it does whatever it wants goes crazy I have two commander pro modules both are plugged in via usb on mobo. First time with this I’m sure I’m just missing something appreciate any help.

Are you running any other monitoring programs? Aida? HWInfo?

No I have msi afterburner but not currently using that and Aida is downloaded with that but neither are being used. Like right now 2 of my fans are just off and this a brand new build no ther software then msi afterburner for oc and Aida but they aren’t on by default only when I enable them

I’m really at a loss two fans aren’t even on now and they are on my radiator. I keep trying to set a constant curve on those and they just shut off. I tried resetting and then updating the software. One thing I found strange is that one of the Corsair pros is listed as the case 1000d and that’s the one that’s sensing my fans all crazy the other one only has one fan in it at the moment

The Commander Pro showing as a 1000D is a firmware problem. Support should be able to resolve that.

Let's try replacing the Vardar fans with the stock fans and see if it exhibits the same issue. There are some fans - Noctua, in particular - that seem to give the Commander Pro fits. The Vardars may be similar.

I have the same issue with Vardars. They just won't settle to the level they're told to settle to.

The frustration I have with Commander Pro is that you can only tell it to go after a specific RPM rather than a specific %age of power which would solve the issue.

I gave in earlier tonight and ordered a set of Corsair ML 140mm fans.

My 1000d did not come with any fans at all. If vardar dare the problem I will remove them and use them on my dads new oc and my kids. I just want mine to work correctly so if I buy 10 Corsair fans I should t have any issues then with things working I would hope. I’m sure they would do well enough on my radiators.

When you say a firmware problem I guess I didn’t see it as a problem but will all issues go away if I use Corsair fans that’s really alll I’m after I will order 4- of the three packs then

The Corsair fans will do fine on the radiator - especially the MLs.

I would be surprised to see the same issues with the Corsair fans. Again, there are a couple of fans (most notably some of the Noctuas) that have issues with the Commander Pro. I don't know, TBH, if it's a problem with the Commander Pro or with the Noctuas (in your case, Vardar) and I'm not sure how we'd be able to definitively say.

Well I ordered 8 fans to take the Caesar’s place hopefully this will work. Just sucks because I will have to drain my loop and unhook some stuff but shouldn’t be to hard thank god I put a drain port in

  • 1 month later...

I found that the Vardars don't report their rpm correctly, which confuses the CLCP as it wants to control things based off the rpm.

They respond happily to a fixed PWM signal, however, so I'd have recommended that before changing the fans (though I know I'm a bit late to that particular party).
