PANTOGAS
Hi all. I have this mobo: Asus ROG Strix Z270E Gaming (its RGB ) and im thinking of buying these led strips: Corsair Lighting PRO RGB/ LED Expansion kit RGB LED stripes (CL-8930002). Can i connect them directly to my motherboard and control them via the corsair utility program? Or i need another connector to hook em up there? Thank you in advance -George. DevBiker
No, you cannot connect it to your motherboard. The RGB connectors for that board at 12V Analog RGB, not 5V Digital (Addressable) RGB. You should get the Lighting Node Pro kit with the strips.
c-attack
The Lighting Node Pro (LNP) is the control and software link to iCUE. That will be in the box with that strip package. It will need its own power supply. Motherboard RGB headers will force you to use their lighting control programs, not iCUE and those are generally much more limited in capability.
