silversmurfer
So I am currently looking at either a Vega 56 or RX580 to replace a faulty 1060. However, my Corsair RM550x only has one Type 4 PCI-E cable (18 gauge) daisy chained to two 6+2-pin connectors. Buying another cable isnt an option since the PSU itself only has a connection for one PCI-E cable (it's a single rail model). I'm planning to undervolt either of the two, and if it becomes the Vega, use it in power saving mode. Is the cable on that PSU up to the job of running those cards? (power draw should be about 225 watts if i can tweak it correctly)
Corsair Employees Corsair Mint Posted November 20, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 20, 2018 You're talking about the pigtail cable, right? The one with two 6+2 connectors? If so, yup, you should be good there with just a single cable.
