XMS Owner
Hey guys, My computer won't even POST when I use this particular stick of RAM. It's a stick of 256mb XMS ram. The numbers on the sticker are: CMX256A-2700C2, XMS2700 333 MHz CL2. I've tried moving this stick in all three DIMMs on my motherboard, no luck. I also cleared the CMOS as well. This problem started with a blue screen, and then the computer never booted with the stick again. Computer Specs: Abit IT7-MAX2, 2 x WD160gb in raid0, 120 GB Seagate (backup) Intel P4 2.4b processor. IF you need more info on my specs, just let me know. Also, I tired trouble shooting by completely disassembling my computer. Everything was removed, even the motherboard. I checked for and signs of damage etc, but I found nothing. I put all the essentials back in the case (PSU, the stick of XMS is question, video card) and try to boot. No dice, some problem...the motherboard just gives out one solid long beep. If I put in my other stick of XMS (identical to the stick of XMS in question) it boots like a champ. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.
