Secure Digital power consumption

Recommended Posts

Hello,

your Website describe your SD cards as "Ultra-low power consumption for extended battery life"

i found Typical power consumption for some other SD cards

Read mode: 15 mA (Typical)

Write mode: 40 mA (Typical)

Erase mode: 20 mA (Typical)

Idle mode: 100 uA (Typical)

How better is Corsair memory ?

or is there a test somewhere comparing yours and some regular SD card ?

Regards

Good Question ColdCat!

Corsair Secure Digital memory products adhere to the specifications set forth by the Secure Digital Association (the governing body for SD products) Our products comply with the latest spec/standard. Any SD product that meets these specs will have the same power consumption specs.

Marketing people tend to get creative and appear to have used a standard spec as a "feature" (Checking other vendor product sites and etailer web sites we see more of the same) I'm told this is because SD products use power differently than other flash products (so this "can" be a differentiation)

Rest assured that Corsair Secure Digital cards are "top notch" like our other memory products!

As for a comparison test ... we generally prefer results that independent review sites provide. Our (award winning) Flash Voyager has many reviews ... I'll search to see what's been said of our SD or if there is a "product roundup" somewhere.
