CORSAIR HYDRO Series H150i PRO With Corsair SP120 PWM High Performance

Good Morning,

 

I Am planning to buy - CORSAIR HYDRO Series H150i

But i want to replace the 3 fans with Corsair Air Series SP120 PWM High Performance Edition

 

Will they install ? and will i be able to control the fans as same as the stock fans that already came with the H150i or i will lose the controlling on the fan ?

 

I am planning on Buying the i9-9900K and taking it to the limits ;)

They'll work and you'll be able to control them ...

@DevBiker - Great :) i thought i wont be able to use CORSAIR iCUE to control them as the stock fans. so the new fans will be controlled by ICUE right ?

 

 

You won't get much, if any, performance improvement over the stock fans and you'll get a whole lot more noise.

 

(H150i Comes with ML Series Fans

1600 RPM , Fan static pressure 1.78 mm-H2O , Fan airflow 47.3 CFM)

(SP120 PWM High Performance Edition

2350 RPM , Fan static pressure 3.10 mm-H20 , Fan Airflow 62.74 CFM)

OK ... so you are hung up on the specs.

 

Here's the deal ... you won't get any better cooling off the radiator running the SP120's at those speeds. Now ... I see you didn't include the noise levels so if you're cool doing it and it makes you feel better, go for it.

 

But I've tested running the original MLs and the RGB MLs on the same cooler. Over a certain speed, you don't get any more radiation of heat. There are limits of physics that no amount of fan speed or air will change.

 

So ... quote your stats all you like. I stand by my statement. Based on experience and real-world testing. Not based on staring at specification charts.

Wait , So Running the ML's on 1600RPM - and Running the SP's at 2400RPM not considering the noise levels , will give me the same performance ?

 

i, know your the expert, but can you explain to me why is that there is no gain in performance ?

It's the physics of thermodynamics. There is only so much heat that can be exchanged through the radiator, regardless of how much air is flowing through it. Once you hit that point, it won't cool any more than that no matter what you do. So you actually get diminishing returns over a certain fan speed.
