schallau
I have a problem with two of the following modules: cmx512-4000pt xms4000v3.3 0434052-1 xms4000 512mb 500mhz 3448 Tested on: MSI K8N NEO FSR - Athlon 64 3400 ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe - Intel Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.20GHz CPU DFI Lanparty Ultra-D - Athlon 64 3000 All systems have the latest manufacturer firmware. I'm using Antec power supplies in all three systems. Problems: 1) On the ASUS board the system would not complete boot. The system would often lock before getting to windows logon screen. 2) On the MSI board the system would boot and run relatively stable until any graphics intensive or compression operations were run (specifically tar/bzing large files). 3) Same thing on the DFI board as with the MSI. I have tried both modules alone and still experience stability issues on all systems, however, I can usually boot further on the Intel system (get past login, start poking around and then lockup or reboot). The MSI K8N is dual booted with Microsoft Windows XP-64 RC1 and Fedora Core 2. On all systems, a set of CMX512-3500C2PT works beautifully with no issues. I'm quite suprised that both seem too be experiencing issues. What suggestions do you have for me? Can I RMA these sticks? Regards, James
schallau
I'm running the modules at DDR400. No overclocking default FSB for the procs. CAS by SPD - yea it's high for the Athlons espescially. Funny that the modules somewhat work in the Athlons but not on the Intel platforms. I also tried this in an ECS board running a 2.8ghz P4, but I don't recall the model of the board offhand. Same thing- it'd boot but crash shortly before or at login.
