bleak
My motherboard doesn't get a signal to the video card/monitor when all 4 sticks of Corsair ValueSelect DDR400 (dual channel, 512MB) are inserted. Called Asus tech support and they told me I needed to find out the timing settings and input them manually into the BIOS. SO... can anybody tell me what the correct timing settings are? CMC_SAVAGE
With 4 sticks, try 3-3-3-8.
bleak
I've got 4 Corsair ValueSelect DDR400 (PC3200) Dual Channel (2 sets of 512MB x 2) in the motherboard mentioned in the title. When I try to boot up the computer, it acts like there is no signal going to the video card/monitor. So I called Asus tech support and they had me take all the RAM out, execept for 1 stick in slot B1. Lo and behold, it worked. Tech support said I needed to find out the timing settings (CAS settings?) and set them manually through the BIOS. So now the question is: what are the correct settings and where in the BIOS do I set them? Other systems specs: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe (NForce 4) motherboard 2GB Corsair ValueSelect DDR400 RAM (2 sets of 512MB x 2) 3 Western Digital 250GB SATA HDs Asus Xtreme N6800 Ultra (NVidia 6800 Ultra) video card AMD Athlon 64 4000+ CPU Thanks! CandyKid
With four modules, try at least 2.65 volts on the VDimm and I'd personally set them to 3-4-4-8 since you may very well have a module with that "rating". In truth, Corsair doesn't rate (or garauntee) timings for value select... hence the value part. Anyways, give either of those a whirl, but the extra juice won't hurt your chances. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 10, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 10, 2006 Please contact the MB maker as they will need to replace the MB or you have a failing CPU. To be sure I would test your CPU in another MB. That is assuming that the modules will run and pass one up with http://www.memtest.org.
