SnoopyDog
Hi As above mentioned, I am running with 2x512mb Corsair 3200C2 rev. 1.1 modules. The issue is that when using CPU ID rev. 1.27 one of the modules is registered as being PC2700 ram and the other is PC3200. The part number is CMX512-3200C2 on them both, but the MAX Bandwith is PC2700. The problems comes when I want to run the memory as 200MHZ speed. That is not possible, it will only run it at the lovest speed of my memory 166MHZ. What to do?? The memory is bought as PC3200 memory. On the sticker on the heatsink it also says PC3200. My MB is a MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 22, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 22, 2005 You more than likely have a module that was made before January of 2004 as there was no Spec for DDR400 and we used the JEDEC defined values for PC-2700 before then. I would suggest you submit both modules to be replaced so they match. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! Will I go back in performance with new exchanged memory?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 23, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 23, 2005 I would ask our customer service when you submit the RMA. But there is probably nothing wrong with your module just the SPD will not run in this MB. If you can find another use for these modules I would suggest you order a Twinx set from your reseller for best performance.

Morbin
What slots are the memory in? First two slots,Closes to CPU, I am now running the 2x256 at DDR 200 Tried 2x512 in other 3+4 slots and will again only show DDR 333 pc2700 in everest testing...But Tested both sticks(512's) one at a time and found will read single channel 200 at boot up,Did this to test m/b slots. Thanks for the quick replys....
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 6, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 6, 2005 Ifyou install more than 2 modules it will by default set the memory Freq at DDR333. Please test the modules one set at a time.
Morbin
Ifyou install more than 2 modules it will by default set the memory Freq at DDR333. Please test the modules one set at a time. Yes it will on either 1+2 or 3+4 with the pair of pc 3200 512's, or all 4 slots filled will go to DDR 333...but will set at DDR400 with only pc3200 2x256a's by default. Also noticed with 2x512's in slots 1+2 or 3+4 will only set 2x rate not 1x rate. In Everest test comes up has PC2700 with 512x2 PC3200 installed. Branjo
Hi ,I too have 2x512mb of XMS3200C2 and one reads PC2700 but they both work fine at FSB of 400 are they really both the same as they are both named PC3200 and also if I begin to overclock (which is why i bought them) will the one that reads PC2700 get errors before the one that reads PC3200 or is it just that JEDEC thing and basically they are both the same? they are running in dual channel with no problems at all and getting good benchmarks in Everest home edition of 3000Mb/s bandwidth with a latency of 84.5ns which is better by 10ns and 100Mb/s than my last ram. my timings are 2,3,3,6 as stated on the modules. so should i have concern for the mismatch or just let it be?
