Is My H115i Failing?

Hey folks,

I'm wondering if my h115i is failing:

I'm running a h115i in the front of a fractal r5 using 2x corsair maglev fans and 1x fractal fan in push/pull and 140mm corsair fan in the back as exhaust.

Been hitting some crazy temps lately at only 1.24V on my 4790K (oc to 4.6) - I have had to back off my overclock a bit (was previously 4.7Ghz at 1.25V)

CPU shoots up to mid 90's in intel burn test and newest version of (avx) prime, and will hit 100C on all cores and tcase after a few minutes. Same result with front and side panel of case removed and fans set to 100% in corsair link. Pump is set in performance mode.

I recently delidded my cpu and replaced the TIM with grizzly conductonaut and replaced the IHS with a custom copper one. Using conductonaut between the IHS and 115i as well. Same results temp-wise before and after the delid. It has been 2 years but I know this was sub 90C when I first did the build.

LINK shows the pump operating at 40C or higher during stress test, one line is warm to the touch and the other cold - feels about ambient which is between 21 and 22C. My rad is warm up top but cool on the bottom. H115i is too old to RMA, about 2 years.

I would appreciate any insights - I was hoping to get back into overclocking and was planning to push for 1.3V and 4.9Ghz on this CPU, but with these temps I am worried about 1.24V.

What's your ambient or internal case temp? The 1080Ti does throw off a lot of heat which'll warm up your coolant if you are configured as exhaust. (But it shouldn't be this much)

How quickly does the radiator warm up?

In all honestly, it sounds like a partial blockage. Most of the radiators have a 5 year warranty, btw.

Thanks for the quick reply. Ambient is kept between 21 and 22C, would need to find a thermometer to place inside, but same result with the panels on the case removed. My 1080ti not in use during any of this testing; it is sitting at about 35C and the fans aren't spinning.

I am thinking it is a partial blockage as well and my recent delid and application of cryonaut dislodged it temporarily. I have opened a ticket with Corsair for RMA, hopefully they aren't too picky as I don't have my receipt and the stock fans are long gone. I don't think the 115i was in production 5 years ago, so hopefully that is a non-issue.

It looks like a H150 wouldn't fit this case, if the RMA is approved I might buy a replacement and sell the new unit that corsair sends back.

I can't speak for Corsair but my understanding is that the receipt is absolutely required. :(

If you bought it online, you should be able to dig it up.

Not sure about the stock fans but they did want them sent back when I RMA'd an H100i V2.
