carter333167
Hi all, I have a 6 week old Corsair One Elite (bought from NewEgg) that is completely crashing to full restart while playing Diablo 3. Could this be the dreaded defective ribbon issue? Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks!
Corsair Employees Corsair StormShadow Posted August 27, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 27, 2018 Hi all, I have a 6 week old Corsair One Elite (bought from NewEgg) that is completely crashing to full restart while playing Diablo 3. Could this be the dreaded defective ribbon issue? Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks! It sounds like it. Can you tell me the SN, I can be sure then. But in any case, you should submit a support ticket asap.
carter333167
Thanks! The SN is 008718145106 I opened a ticket earlier this evening. The ticket number is 772319. The screen simply locks mid-game during some games, everything is immediately unresponsive (including attempting to ctr-alt-delte to task manager), and the computer then re-starts after 1-2 minutes. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Corsair Employees Corsair StormShadow Posted August 27, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 27, 2018 Doesn't seem like it's from the bad batch. Do you experience this in anything else? Do you have a 3rd party security software installed on your system?
carter333167
Diablo 3 is the only game I play. I ran the full system test and stress test and it passed. I use Kaspersky. It just seems odd that the entire system crashes to auto reboot...not just the game.

I use Kaspersky. It just seems odd that the entire system crashes to auto reboot...not just the game. Try disable your Kaspersky completely and let me know if that makes a difference. In the past, we've had customers installing 3rd party security software in their system and ran into similar issue.
carter333167
Uninstalled Kaspersky...it still is occurring. The event code in reliability history is BlueScreen, Code 133. Some of the other more common notes (application failures) in the shutdowns relate to Corsair LinkService, Razer Game Manager Service and a few MSI update Service and Microsoft Edge notations. I use Razer Synapse 3.0 but I just doubt that could lead to multiple full shutdowns. I am considering doing a Windows reset...do you think it would be a good idea? Thanks for your help and thoughts. Corsair Employees Corsair StormShadow Posted August 28, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 28, 2018 That's unfortunate. Try this: 1. Hold Windows key and press "R" 2. Once run time windows come up, type in "cmd" then press Enter 3. In Command prompt, type in the command: "sfc /scannow" then press Enter to perform it. If it's a system file issue, that should take care of it. If not, it's definitely something else.
carter333167
Thank you. I ran the system scan and received the following message: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log So, what next? Should I start gaming again and see if I continue to see bluescreens? Could the system errors have been introduced by the blue screen events themselves? Thanks very much for your patience and help. Corsair Employees Corsair StormShadow Posted August 28, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 28, 2018 You're welcome and yup try running your game and see if the issue is fix, that's the only way to find out.
carter333167
Thank you very much. I will run some games and update tomorrow. Thanks!
carter333167
OK---still crashing. Complete bluescreen and re-start in the middle of the game. I have submitted a ticket. Will this suffice as a full warranty claim? Thanks very much.
