missionfailed
Will the One support 4000MHz memory? I'm getting conflicting information on the memory speed compatibility of the MSI mother board. MSI website says it will support 4133MHz. Wile newegg says only up to 3800MHz. I was looking at this memory. is it compatible? You also cannot fit memory with a heatsink that tall into the CORSAIR ONE.
Corsair Employees Corsair CJ Posted August 24, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 24, 2018 We can only officially support the following upgrade kit for the Corsair ONE at this time. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/High-Performance-Memory/VENGEANCE%C2%AE-LPX-32GB-%282-x-16GB%29-DDR4-2400MHz-%28PC4-19200%29-C16-Memory-Upgrade-Kit-for-CORSAIR-ONE/p/CMK32GX4M2O2400C16 Since the Corsair ONE uses an unlocked CPU on an OC-capable motherboard, you could potentially get that kind of performance from an aftermarket upgrade, that being said, it won't be supported by us unless officially validated on our end. It's all technically overclocking at the end of the day, so your mileage may vary assuming you can get a kit that would fit in the Corsair ONE. missionfailed
thanks. So, it's not a speed compatibility issue it is a size issue? The Z370i Msi DDR4-2133 / 2400 / 2666 / 2800 / 3000 / 3200 / 3300 / 3333 / 3400 / 3466 / 3600 / 3733 / 3866 / 4000 / 4133 / 4266 / 4333 / 4400 / 4500 If I was able to replace the heat sinks with a after market heat sink would it be compatible then? something like this? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?reviews=all&Item=N82E16835119017&cm_re=ram_heatsink-_-35-119-017-_-Product with the caveat being ; "That being said, it won't be supported by us unless officially validated on our end." missionfailed
what about these two? they are both the same form factor as the Ram already inside the One. I don't care about LEDs at all. Wouldn't have to void my Ram warranty to get these to fit. CORSAIR ONE is engineered from the ground up to go the distance on performance. Upgradable and built using industry standard components, CORSAIR ONE is future-proof and designed to grow with you, supporting full-height DRAM and flexible storage options." I am ok with upgrading the PSU to a SF600 if i have to. Wouldn't think a larger PSU would be needed. If I can deactivate the M.2 drive and run only one SSD that saves an extra 10w. Those are good candidates. That being said, I can only officially support the kit I've linked to previously. Higher speed kits and taller modules may work, but we can only guarantee performance/compatibility with certain kits on our end. Your mileage may vary with upgrades that deviate from our list of validated upgrades, but RAM tends to be one of the safer things to upgrade as long as the platform performs. zguy85
Would you recommend 2666MHz version vs your link that says 2400MHz? The motherboard can absolutely support 2666. I'm asking because I already purchased the 2400 recently from the Corsair store a couple days ago and now having hard regrets. Should I get the 2666 instead? Latencies are as follows for 16Gb modules. What do you think? 2666Mhz - 16-18-18-35 2400Mhz - 16-16-16-39 which is better you think? So it ultimately comes down to personally preference.
