aluera89
Hey guys, I have been having issues with my USB - C on my front I/O. Every I plug in my phone it will charge and then begin to constantly disconnect and reconnect. I have updated my drivers. I have checked my BIOS and even made changes in device manager and power settings. I am beginning to think the front I/O is faulty but then I also am not sure because if I disable the device in the device manager it will stop disconnecting and reconnecting but continue to fast charge my pixel 2 xl. I have tested the USB C port on my motherboard ASUS ROG Formula X and it works fine, stays connected and I can transfer files while it charges as well. I was curious though what any thoughts were, suggestions or if anyone has had any similar issues.
tiessar
Get a higher quality or shorter Type C cable, you're adding too much length so it's dropping out. Cables certified for Type C and/or PD aren't certified for that performance on an extension.
Corsair Employees Corsair Caliente Posted August 23, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 23, 2018 Hey Aluera, Go ahead and go with tiessar's suggestion. If the problem persists though the support team can send you a new I/O panel if necessary. Just submit a ticket on at https://support.corsair.com and let them know. aluera89
Just in case anyway ever has the same question, I did ordered a higher quality USB C - C connection from amazon and ever since they I have had no problems. I just find it a little weird that the cord that came with the Pixel 2 XL is not strong enough. Anyways, thanks guys!
