Corsair H150i PRO and fan speed with iCUE

Hey guys,

Recently I installed the H150i PRO but instead of using the stock fans that came with the cooler I opted to use bequiet 120 PWM high powered fans at 2200rpm. In the case I also have 2 LL140 RGB mounted to the top as exhaust and 1 LL120 RGB mounted to the back as exhaust. I can control the speed of these fans just. I can create a custom curve and they will follow it correctly.

The AIO on the other hand cannot seemed to be controlled correctly. I set the pump speed to balance which seems to work just fine. When I try to set the fan speed for the three fans it will either go completely to max or off. I tried to create a custom curve based off temperature and they doesn't seem to work either. The only temporary solution I have found was to set a custom RPM at 1100 which causes the fans to run at 700RPM each.

I have tried to adjust my bios settings on my asus rog formula x and made sure all the fan settings were PWM. I also tried to switch the connections of the fans. Nothing so far has seemed to work. I even tried to uninstall iCUE and use Link. I couldn't control it well there either. The funny thing is when tried to use link it said the fans had a max limit of 720 RPM. I currently have cooler plugged into the CPU_FAN connection.

I am all out of ideas, any help would be appreciated.

The integrated circuit on the pump head may not be sending out a frequency that the Be Quiet fans can recognize (assuming you have the Be Quiet fans plugged into the three PWM headers that come out of the pump head). Every PWM fan is manufactured to accept a range of frequencies (the duty cycle) and the Corsair pump head may not be sending the correct square sine wave to the Be Quiet fans. It has been a long time since I looked the electrical signaling of a PWM fan but you may have to change back to the Corsair fans or choose a different brand.

I am afraid the BeQuiet PWM fans have some control quirks as more elegantly suggested above. The control curve is exceedingly non-linear and if you google around a bit you will find issues on various controller brands. I have not tried them on a Pro cooler controller, but had issues on the Commander Pro. The DC versions work on the C-Pro, but that won’t help you on the PWM only Pro controller. I have seen mention of people making a relay to fix it, but not sure if you want to go that far.

Just wanted to come back and update you guys. This morning is switched out the BeQuiet fans with stock ML 120 fans that came with the AIO. All is well I can completely control the fans. I suppose I should have tried that first. Anyways, thanks a lot guys!
