Moe
I have a twinx1024-3200LL set and I think one of the DIMM's is damaged. Everytime I tried to boot windows using SPD settings (200Mhz) the computer was unstable and crashed. So I decided to lower the frequency to 166 Mhz and boot windows and voila the computer was running fine.I tried Dual-channel mode at 200Mhz ,single channel with any luck. Then I decided to download memtest86. I first tried the test with dual channel configuration at 166Mhz and everything was fine then I decided to raise the frquency back to 200Mhz and the errors started to show up. After changing the memory from slot to slot in my motherboard (gigabyte GA-8KNXP Rev2) i tried single channel using only one DIMM and it passed all the tests regardless of the frequency unlike the other that gave a lot of errors (according to memtest86). One of the modules was not "stable" for freqs over 166Mhz and gave a lot of errors. I will apprecciate any help. In case the memory is really damaged how does the warranty works. Can I get an RMA? :sigh!:

Thanks I really appreciate your help guys. One more question, since the memory is twin matched what do you think is better, to return both modules or to return only the "damaged" one. Thanks in advance... Best regards
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 23, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 23, 2005 Yes, I would submit the RMA for 1 Twinx set and send both modules.
