divided421
Hey all, I recently replaced a bad stick of RAM with a part number CMX512-3200C2, and I am not sure when this occurred or if it is related...but my memory is only going at 160mhz (320mhz DDR). As reported by CPU-Z, my FSB - RAM ratio is 5-4 obviously. Even when I set my motherboard to have it go at 400mhz, after I reboot, its still at 320. I dont get it! pentium 4 3.2ht msi 875p neo fis2r (bios v2.4) 2x512mb corsair xms 400mhz ram (in dual channel mode)(2-3-3-6) wd 160gb hd sb audigy 2 platinum tdk 48x24x48x cd-r pioneer 4x dvd-r 420watt ps Thanks for any help\ Bryan

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 23, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 23, 2005 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS installed on your MB; load optimal/Set Up defaults, and set the memory timings settings at CAS 2.5/3/3/7 with a 2.75 voltage setting. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 24, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 24, 2005 Please make sure you have the latest BIOS installed in your MB and load optimized/optimal default settings, and try the following BIOS settings; Advanced Chipset: Memclock Mode: Manual (400) Bank Interleaving: 4/Enabled Burst Length: 8 SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 7T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T Frequency Voltage Control: Spread Spectrum: Enabled CPU FSB Clock: 200 DDR Voltage: 2.7/2.75 Volts AGP Voltage: Default *unless you have ATI (9200 or 9600) or NVIDIA (5200 or 5700) then 1.6 Volts suggested!* All other settings should be set to default settings! Then please test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let’s make sure it's not some other issue! I would run the test for at least 2-3 passes to be sure! divided421
those are the exact same specs as your previous post. i did try the motherboard on both manual memory speed mode (set to 400mhz) and automatic, both producing the same result. memtest86 came up clean after an all night (11hrs) test but thats only running at 320mhz! is there anything else i could try?
