mm_pasty
Hi, last October I bought a TWINX1024-4000PT pack from dabs.com and was running them fine in a P4 setup around 220mhz, I recently upgraded to an A64 machine and tried running the ram at 250mhz for performance testing and had alot of errors/crashing/lockups. Well, one of the modules is giving alot of errors in memtest86 as I increase the speed until 232mhz (ish) where it'll bomb outta memtest86 completely, it could have always been like this, I'm not sure :( The part number is XMS4000v3.1 | 0439003-2, is this covered in the warranty and should I send back one or both the modules? Thanks.
Wired
Does that CPU have the capability to run that high?
mm_pasty
Yeah, it's stable right now with the one working module at 250mhz, to be sure I just tested the bad module running the CPU close to stock using a low multiplier and high FSB which caused the same errors in memtest. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 22, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 22, 2005 I would make sure the voltage was set to 2.85 Volts and test the module again one at a time. mm_pasty
Hey, ok I've just given it another thorough test using the A64 & P4 setup, but the max voltage on both motherboards is 2.8v. I tried using different DIMM banks & various timings but one module is still giving errors - the one working module is fine on both setups at 250mhz, 100% stable. I'd rather send both modules back for another matched pair if thats ok - is there any European address I could send them back to? I'm in the UK so sending them back to America will take some time & cost a pretty penny, thanks.
