Hi all,

First post so hello. Ok i've bought 1 gig twinx cmx512 4000pt.As i am a complete newbie i am now worried it might not be the best ,or compatable for my system.Any help , advice or criticism will be gratefully received.

p4 northwood (?) mpga-478 533/800 fsb

GA8 istx-fsc says in manual supports ddr 333/400 supports only 2.5 v ddr dimm.

On the stick it says xms 4000 2.1 v 500mhz .Also the timings are 3 .4 .4 .8 is this good for expensive memory ?

Sorry to sound such a newbie .

ps. primary use is gaming.

Hi wired,

The board is made by gigabyte, I think its a special or something made for the comp manufacturer- fujitsu siemens. I have the boards manual. btw its GA 8ISXT-FS not GA 8ISTX-FS as i said before.I'm just a little confused by the xms4000v2.1 ? could it version and not volts at all ? :o:

DOH !! (holmers voice)

As I am not going to overclock my p4 200/800 fsb does this mean it would only run at pc 3200 any way ? And therfore I would be better off getting pc 3200 at better timings (2.2.2.5 ) ? The shop will swap them as I hav'nt used it yet.

Thanks in advance,

saltpetre.

Ok I think I'm going to rma the twinx 4000.(And maybe get the 3200xl ???)

However I'm still unsure about the voltage issue,I've run Sisoft sandra and hardware sensors monitor . The only volts I can see approaching 2.5 is the aux volts, both progs report 2.56 - 2.58v . Is this the voltage the ram runs off ? And is this high enough for corsair ram ?

Or should I look elseware ?

Thanks .

saltpetre.

Sorry to be a pain but a definitive answer from ram guy would be nice .
