hd 120x6 lighting issues.

Hello everyone. I have 6 hd fans installed into my lian li pc-011 dynamic case. I have a commander node pro connected to the 6 port lighting hub for the 6 fans. each of the fans is controlled via my nzxt n7 mother board with the commander pro controlling the 6 fans rgb in channel 1, 4x lighting strips are connected to channel 2.

I have verified that all 6 fans will light up when placed into the 1st slot in the fan hub. I have also updated all the firmware for the controllers, in addition programmed iQue that there is 6 HD series fans connected. I have also tried different orientations for the order of the fans in hopes that I can get all 6 on at once then worry about relocating individual fans to get the order I want but to no avail. since I have 6 hd120 fans I do have 2 of the fan controllers and have tried both and they both seem to have the same issue... its just odd that all fans verify that they are controllable but wont work in all 6.

Can you show us a screen shot of the iCue lighting channel setup as well as your lighting effects?

Also, have you tried switching the channels? And can you verify that the CoPro is powered by a direct SATA connection and not an adapter of any kind? And that the cable between the CoPro and the fan hub contains two wires?

It may also be good to check out the RGB FAQ linked in my signature.

Also, since you have the HD fans, do all fans light up when using the push button controller?

yes it is plugged directly into the sata connector from my power supply.

the two cables coming from the CoPro one goes to USB header on mobo the other goes to sata power

4 of the 6 fans will light. all of the fans will light up when placed into the 1 of 6 fan hub

4 of the six will light with the push-button controller? Does that hold for both fan hubs?

Also note that the fans run in serial - 1 bad fan can take out the rest. So if they all work on port 1 but only 4 of six light when using the push button controller, try rearranging them (e.g. put #3 at the end).

I do think that there is definitely something wrong here with the hardware but I'm trying to get it narrowed down to exactly what is off.

Its just odd since both fan hubs wont let fan 3 and 4 light up but all fans will light when placed in the 1 slot. Ive changed the order but cant run all 6

Seems statistically improbable that both controllers have the 2 and 3 spot have an issue... i mean its possible but statistically odd. I will pick up 2 more fans to see if its the fans somehow.

Did you rearrange the fans at all? Or is it always the same fans in slot 3 and slot 4?

The fans run in a series ... each fan gets the signal and then passes it down the chain. So it's not odd at all that a fan might light but the next one won't.

Yes i did try different orders to get them all to light to no avail i picked up 2 more fans and will see when i get home... sadly the hd120s are like the only fan that looks good from the back as until now ive been running only nzxt lighting solutions since the n7 has native support. Still have 2 140s on my rad and since they exhaust out the top the lighting is fine the 6 hds are in intake config
